Wedding music in Tangier: traditional group, DJ and sound system

· 2 min read

DJ at the decks during a wedding evening

Traditional group or DJ? How to compose the music of your wedding in Tangier, make the two work together, and look after the sound and lighting.

Music is the engine of a wedding: it announces the highlights, gets guests dancing and fixes the memory of the evening. In Tangier, many weddings combine a traditional group and a DJ. Here is how to put it together.

The traditional group

It announces the couple’s entrance, accompanies the procession and sets the rhythm of the ceremonial moments. It gives the wedding its identity. Choose it according to the spirit you want, ask to see an extract live or on video, and specify when it plays.

The DJ

The DJ takes over to open the dance floor and get the whole room dancing, from Moroccan repertoire to international hits. A good DJ reads the room, adapts to the guests’ ages and respects the playlist you have approved (and the tracks you refuse).

Band, singer, musicians

For a more festive wedding, a band or a singer can complement or replace the DJ. Check compatibility with the sound system, the stage and the hours.

Building the music programme

  1. Welcome: soft atmosphere while guests arrive.
  2. The couple’s entrance: the highlight, with the traditional group.
  3. The meal: background music that does not stop conversation.
  4. Traditional moments: outfit changes, procession, dances.
  5. The dance floor: DJ or band.
  6. End of the evening: a last moment to close properly.

Sound and lighting: often neglected

An excellent group badly amplified is a spoiled evening. The equipment must be sized to the venue and the number of guests, installed and tested before the guests arrive, with a technician present. Lighting (stage, floor, mood) completes the effect. See our event equipment rental and entertainment and music services.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Booking late: sought-after groups and DJs are booked months ahead.
  • Not coordinating group, DJ and negafa: dead time spoils the atmosphere.
  • Forgetting neighbourhood constraints and hours.
  • Under-sizing the sound for a large space or open air.

In our wedding planning in Tangier, we coordinate traditional group, DJ, sound and lighting with the running order of the evening. Let’s talk.
