Wedding in Tangier for couples living abroad: planning remotely

· 2 min read

Garden wedding reception in Tangier, table set

You live in France, Belgium, the Netherlands or elsewhere and want to marry in Tangier? How to organise everything remotely, with a contact on the ground.

Many couples living abroad choose to marry in Tangier, close to their family, often in summer. It is a wonderful project — and a logistical challenge: you cannot visit halls every weekend or meet every supplier. Here is how to go about it.

Start early, because you come in summer

Couples living abroad often marry in July and August, exactly when venues and suppliers are most in demand. Start planning several months ahead — ideally as soon as the date is known — so you can choose the venue, the artists and the caterer.

Have a contact on the ground

This is the most important point. A contact in Tangier — an agency or a wedding planner — visits venues in your place, meets suppliers, sends you photos and videos, checks quotes and follows progress. You make the decisions; they carry them out.

Working remotely, in practice

  • Video calls to present the concept, visit venues virtually and approve the decoration.
  • Messaging (WhatsApp) for quick exchanges and photos.
  • A detailed quote and a shared calendar to follow what is done.
  • A tasting and trials arranged during a stay, or done by a trusted relative and filmed.

Plan a short scouting trip

If possible, group the key visits into a few days: venue, tasting, meetings with the negafa and artists. Prepare them in advance with your contact so every hour counts.

Administrative procedures

The procedures related to the marriage itself (documents, formalities) depend on your situation and the country where you live: check with the relevant authorities and your consulate. We do not handle them: we take care of the celebration.

Payments

Agree a clear schedule, with deposits and a payment calendar set out in the quote. Keep a written record of everything.

Guest accommodation

Your guests may come from several countries: think about accommodation, transfers and timings, especially in high season.

The big day, stress-free

On the wedding day, a coordinator present from set-up to dismantling welcomes suppliers, handles the unexpected and lets the families enjoy themselves. It is even more valuable when you have prepared the event from afar.

Faghloumi Events organises weddings in Tangier for couples who live abroad: write to us with your date and country of residence, and we will propose a remote working plan.
