Halloween, Christmas, a tropical night, national holidays, Ramadan: how a hotel, restaurant or café can turn each season into a date in the diary, with decoration, DJ, food and communication.
A venue that does not run its evenings lets customers choose elsewhere. In Tangier, the hotels, restaurants, cafés and beach clubs that retain customers best are those that create dates in the diary: Halloween, Christmas, a tropical night, national holidays, Ramadan, sports events. Here is how to build themed entertainment that fills the room without exhausting your teams.
1. Choose a calendar
Rather than improvising, draw up an annual calendar: three to six well-prepared dates beat an event every week. Spot the strong dates (religious and national holidays, school breaks, year-end, sports events) and those that suit your clientele. Announce the dates in advance so customers book.
2. One theme, one promise
A good theme fits in one sentence: “Immersive Halloween”, “Tropical night by the water”, “Winter night, Oriental style”. It is then carried through decoration, menu, music, staff outfits and communication. A theme that is too broad does not stand out; one that is too narrow limits the audience.
3. Decoration and scenography
Decoration is what the customer photographs: a striking entrance, set elements in the theme’s colours, mood lighting, a photo corner. Scenography goes further: it organises the space so that each zone (reception, tables, dance floor, bar) tells the same story. See our themed decoration.
4. The menu: cocktails, buffet, catering
A themed menu, signature cocktails, a suitable buffet or lighter catering for a dance night: the menu extends the theme. Provide an offer for customers who do not drink alcohol, and vegetarian options. See our catering.
5. Music and entertainment
DJ, host, singer, performers, games, costume contests: music sets the rhythm, entertainment gives the energy. Plan sound and lighting sized for the venue, and a programme that builds in intensity. See our entertainment and music.
6. Immersive experiences and photos
Photobooth, image wall, interactive elements, smoke and light, characters: an experience shared on social media is the best advertising. It must stay simple for your teams to run.
7. Printed materials and signage
Posters, roll-ups, themed menus, flyers, indoor signage: they announce the night before arrival and guide customers during it. A consistent identity — logo, colours, typefaces — gives the impression of a professional event. See our event communication.
8. Communication and bookings
Announce 3 to 4 weeks ahead on your social networks, with a strong visual, the date, the theme, the package and how to book (phone, WhatsApp). A reminder a few days before, stories on the day, a summary film afterwards: the communication calendar is part of the entertainment.
9. Internal organisation
Brief staff on the theme, outfits, running order and who does what. Appoint a person in charge of the night. Plan extra staff for reception and service if you expect a crowd.
10. Measure and repeat
Count bookings, average spend, new customers, your guests’ posts. Note what worked and what to change. A well-kept date becomes a ritual, and rituals build loyalty.
