Organising a trade show or professional exhibition in Tangier: stands, scenography, technical setup and visitors

· 3 min read

Aisle of a trade show with modular stands, visitors and a decorated central area

Trade show, exhibition, open days or showroom: the guide to running a multi-day event in Tangier, from floor plan to scenography, technical setup and welcoming visitors.

A multi-day trade show or exhibition is among the most demanding formats in events: a space to fit out, exhibitors to host, an audience to attract, technical systems to keep running from the first day to the last. Here is how to approach organising a trade show or professional exhibition in Tangier, whether you are a company, a federation, a professional chamber or an association.

1. Define the purpose

A successful show answers a clear question: who is it for, and to do what? Meet customers, showcase a sector, sell directly, bring players together, build partnerships. From the answer follow the target audience, duration, venue and communication.

2. Choose the venue and duration

Congress centre, hotel, hall, temporary structure under a marquee: the venue must offer usable surface, easy access for exhibitors (loading, parking), good circulation for visitors and the electrical power required. Duration depends on the audience: two days may suffice for a professional show, five for a public exhibition.

3. Draw the floor plan

The plan determines the experience: a fluid route that passes every stand, wide enough aisles, attraction zones (stage, conference area, catering) spread out to distribute flows, clear emergency exits, accessible toilets. Test the plan by simulating a visitor’s route.

4. Stands: modular or bespoke

  • Modular stands: partitions, sign, carpet, standard furniture; economical and quick to set up.
  • Bespoke stands: specific design for exhibitors who want to stand out.
  • Bare space: the exhibitor builds their own stand, within a set of rules (height, materials, electricity).

Give every exhibitor a guide: set-up times, floor loads, connections, safety rules, signage.

5. Scenography

Beyond the stands, scenography creates the show’s identity: a striking entrance, lighting, dressing of shared areas, signage, a large image wall. It is what visitors remember when they think of the show. See our decoration and scenography service.

6. Technical setup

General sound, a stage for talks and awards, LED screens at key points, lighting, internet for exhibitors, reliable electricity: the technical setup must hold for several days, with a technician present each day. See our event equipment rental and the technical checklist.

7. The activity programme

Talks, workshops, demonstrations, awards, contests, networking moments: a visible, posted programme gives reasons to come and to stay. Alternate highlights and plan a quiet area for business meetings.

8. Welcoming visitors and exhibitors

A reception desk, a badge and registration system, hosts, a map handed out at the entrance, clear signage, a catering point and a cloakroom: everyone should find what they are looking for without asking. Plan a dedicated area for guests of honour and the press.

9. Communication before, during and after

Before: invitations, social media announcements, press relations, posters. During: photo, video, live, stories. After: thanks, summary in images, a figures report for exhibitors. See our event communication and photo and video services.

10. The countdown

  • 4 to 6 months before: goal, date, venue, budget, first exhibitors.
  • 3 months before: floor plan, scenography, exhibitor contracts, communication.
  • 6 to 8 weeks before: technical setup, programme, invitations, catering.
  • 1 week before: exhibitor guides, briefings, technical tests.
  • Set-up, show days, dismantling: team present throughout.
