Wedding caterer in Tangier: menu, tasting and questions to ask

· 2 min read

Hot dishes buffet prepared by a caterer for a wedding reception

Seated dinner, buffet or cocktail, tasting, diets, sweet table and cake: how to choose your wedding caterer in Tangier and ask the right questions.

For most guests, a wedding is judged on two things: the atmosphere and the meal. The caterer is therefore a choice that commits the success of the evening — and a significant part of the budget. Here is how to choose in Tangier.

Seated dinner, buffet or cocktail reception?

  • Seated dinner: the traditional format, with table service. It structures the evening and suits large weddings.
  • Buffet: freer and friendlier, it needs enough space and a good flow to avoid queues.
  • Cocktail reception: lighter and more mobile, suited to more intimate or modern weddings.

Many families combine: welcome cocktail, seated dinner, then sweet table and cake.

The tasting: essential

Never sign without having tasted. The tasting lets you check quality, seasoning, presentation and quantity. Come with someone whose opinion you respect, ask to taste the dishes actually on the menu, and note what you want to change.

Questions to ask

  • What menu do you offer, and can it be adapted to our families’ traditions?
  • How do you handle special diets (allergies, vegetarian, children)?
  • What does the price include: service, tableware, tablecloths, drinks?
  • How many waiters for how many guests?
  • What are the hours of service and clearing?
  • How do you keep dishes hot and cold on site?
  • Is a sweet table and a wedding cake part of the offer?

The sweet table and the cake

Moroccan pastries, petits fours, wedding cake: the sweet table is also a decorative element. It is designed with the decorator to fit the decor, and placed where it will be seen and photographed.

Logistics and venue

A caterer needs a kitchen or preparation area, power, water and access for vehicles. In a villa or garden, these points are checked during the venue visit with them. See our guide to choosing your reception venue.

Book in time

Well-known caterers are booked early for summer weekends. Book as soon as the venue and date are set.

Our event catering service and our wedding planning in Tangier build the meal into the whole evening. Ask for a quote.
